Jubilee party succumbed to NASA's mind games in public rally pronouncements over challenging election outcome at the Supreme Court, it has now emerged.
At part of the tactic, Raila Odinga diverted attention of Jubilee team led by President Uhuru Kenyatta by vowing never to move to court.
NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, in an interview with Sunday Nation, reveals that the tact worked since it allowed the opposition to collect as much evidence on poll rigging as they could.
"That was a decoy. We did not want to give them ample time to destroy evidence," he said in his latest revelation.
The former Vice President added: "Our teams of lawyers had been assembling evidence from the word go. They did a good job."
With just three days to constitutional lapse on challenging the elections, Raila shocked the nation when he said he will be challenging the results at the Supreme Court, contrary to his earlier stand.
For the first time in Africa's history, the apex court nullified victory of a sitting president after detecting 'illegalities and irregularities' in the outcome.
Raila's legal team was led by Siaya Senator James Orengo and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo among other senior lawyers.
