The outspoken Siaya senator has politically stood with Raila for decades.

He was part of Raila’s legal team that successfully challenged President Uhuru’s re-election on the august 8th 2017 elections.

After then, Orengo was so vocal in challenging the legibility of Uhuru’s re-election that he was frequently attacking the jubilee party on political podiums.

But the big issue now is how Orengo has muted his political antics on government.

But primarily, this is a political equation that is tied to the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru.

Although the handshake was welcomed by many as a sign of political stability, it was a real political missile to Orengo’s work plan.

It basically meant that Orengo had no option but to lie low and reduce attacks on the government.

This politically silenced the seasoned lawyer because it would be really irrelevant to keep accusing Uhuru’s government whilst his party leader is dining with the same government.

It also muted Orengo’s political strategies since a number of his supporters liked it much when he used to attack the government on political podiums.

Hence, he had to adjust his political utterances in the public domain.

Putting in the context that other Raila allies including ODM chairman John Mbadi also support the handshake, it would be really out of the program if Orengo would continue with anti-Uhuru politics.
