The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has been urged to behave like President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Sunday during a wide-ranging panel discussion on the 'Punchline' programme hosted on K24 TV, renowned political commentator David Makali appealed to Mr Odinga to step back from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and let other people steer the process.
"Raila Odinga should be like President Uhuru Kenyatta step back and let other people follow through with the BBI report," the socio-political commentator said.
Makali's words came just a day after the veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga graced a BBI meeting at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega county.
A section of politicians has taken issue with how the so-called BBI meeting was conducted, saying that it was more a political meeting to advance the political interests of Mr Odinga than one to sensitise members of the public on the document.
Members of the BBI steering committee were not invited to the meeting, a fact that has fed the cynical view that the meeting was at its core political in nature.
This is in spite of the names of the steering committee members being gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Leaders allied to the deputy president Dr William Ruto from the Western Kenya region boycotted the high profile meeting.
