A businessman cum politician from Kisii County has claimed that a section of Gusii leaders is using the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) to protect themselves from prosecution.
Don Bosco Gichana argues that the BBI consultative meeting scheduled to be held on 10th January 2019 at Kisii Sports Club should be postponed.
"We are not opposed to BBI as unveiled in Bomas but leaders using BBI for protection from prosecution. Arise residents let's pour on the streets to demand what's rightfully ours Viva Gusii Viva Amandla," wrote Gichana on his Facebook page on Thursday.
Gichana further noted that someone should advise the BBI initiators, President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on the need to postpone the anticipated meeting.
"Raila and Uhuru should be advised about the BBI consultative meeting be taken somewhere else," he added.
According to the politician, corrupt leaders in Kisii and Nyamira Counties are hiding in the BBI so that they can not be prosecuted.
Already a section of leaders has opposed the move by Kisii County Governor James Ongwae to host the BBI consultative meeting.
South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro dismissed the meeting noting that he has not been invited to attend.
Bomachoge Chache MP Alfa Miruka also distanced himself from the BBI meeting and vowed that he will not turn up.
