Protesters escape after being teargassed (photo/standard media)Fourteen people have been arrested following the this week's anti-IEBC demonstrations.
According to Homa Bay police bosses, the 14 were arrested during the demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in which two police officers were injured.The police officers are attacked at different points, with one losing his gun , which was later recovered.Traders led by the secretary general of Homa Bay Giant Traders' Association, Jack Nyambega expressed their displeasure over business losses.Homa Bay county Commander Marius Tum said the 14 were arraigned in court last evening.The NASA leaders have since defied an order issued by Acting interior Cs Fred Matiangi banning the protests. The Cs noted that the past NASA demos have led to the loss of life and property.Early this week, NASA leadership announced that the protests will continue on daily basis as from Monday next week.
