14 students at Eldoret Secondary School in Uasin Gishu County did not show up for this year's KCSE despite registering.

Center supervisor Edwin Omondi said they had only received information concerning the whereabouts of one student who is ill.

"The center registered a total number of 123 students but only 109 students showed up," he said on Monday.

"We have only received information of Veronica Jepkemoi who has undergone hand operation due to cancer complications thus unable to sit for the examinations. For the other 13 we don't know where they are," he added.

He reiterated that despite those challenges exams started as scheduled and no cases of irregularities were reported.

Elsewhere, exams at Acacia Adult Education Center kicked off as planned, according to the Director Benjamin Cheboi.

"Exams started at 8:00 as scheduled and so far we have not encountered any difficulties. This year we have 150 candidates and we expect them to make us proud. I want to wish success to all students across the country and may the Almighty guide them in their endeavors," he said.

He, however, encourage adults who dropped out of school to go back to school and achieve their dreams since their dreams are valid.
