President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga have reportedly formed a team to spearhead the BBI initiative across the country in a move aimed at popularizing the BBI agenda.
The team consists of politicians and Cabinet Secretaries loyal to the President and former Prime Minister.
Baringo Senator and perceived local rival of the Deputy President William Ruto has been tasked to criss-cross the expansive Rift Valley region, the DP's political backyard.
Cabinet Secretary for Interior Fred Matiang'i will be in-charge of Nyanza with his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa being in-charge of former Western Province.
New Agriculture CS Peter Munya will be preaching the BBI gospel in Mount Kenya region.
On the other hand, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho takes over the Coast region.
Already, CS Wamalwa has expressed his willingness to perform his new role.
"As a member of the Luhya community, I will not shy away from this assignment- and will alongside other leaders from the Western region, lead this process which is good for the country," the CS said.
The President and former Prime Minister will be directly in charge of the new committee which marks the new phase of BBI agenda.
