Speaking on Sunday during the 'Punchline' program hosted by renowned television show host Anne Kiguta, Mr Kabogo said that the country's second in command is his friend only that he does not support Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.

He held the view that 2022 was still far off for him to engage in a debate on who he would support for the top seat.

"Ruto is my friend. I have no reason to be enemies with him. But I don't support his 2022 candidature because it is too early to talk about 2022, " the former county boss said.

The deputy president has come out clearly to say that he will be seeking the top seat on a governing Jubilee party ticket when 2022 comes.

Given the stature of William Kabogo in the Mount Kenya region, it would be a big boost should he support William Ruto in 2022.

Kabogo and Ruto fell out in the lead up to the Jubilee party nominations for the gubernatorial contest that saw former governor Ferdinand Waititu carry the day.

Mr Kabogo has long held the view that the deputy president played a role in his loss to Waititu.
