The team of 14 was compiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga after their March 9, 2018 truce.

Among the roles entrusted to it are coming up with solutions to some of the nation's recurrent problems revolving around electoral injustices and tribal and political divisions.

Speaking in Siaya county on Friday, the Bungoma Senator said that the team is taking too long to complete its job, and should have by now shown the nation the direction to take.

"The continued harmonisation and bringing the country together is founded in the BBI, but now it has taken too long," he was quoted by the Standard.

He spoke during the funeral of Mzee Elijah Oduor who was the party's branch chair for Nyando area.

Ironically, the leader opposed the handshake last year, saying that he was not involved in the truce organization despite being part of the National Super Alliance (NASA) principals league.

It was also opposed by the remaining two co-principals; Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), both of whom have already embraced it.

The BBI taskforce has since completed its tours of the 47 counties but is yet to make its findings public.
