Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said that she has nothing against Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua after winning an election petition against her at the Supreme Court.
In an interview with KTN’s Point Blank, Waiguru said that Karua gave her a hard time leading the people of Kirinyaga after filing several election petitions against her.
She said that they made rounds at the corridors of justice after Karua objected her win. Karua had accused Waiguru of bribing voters from the county to win their voters. Waiguru, however, insisted that she won in a free and fair manner.
“I respect the rule of law. Life doesn’t happen to us depending on what we want. I would have preferred the process to have been faster but it didn’t happen. In our situation, it was very unique. I don’t think anybody else has gone through what we went through because the case was first determined at the High Court.
“Martha went to appeal and we were returned back to the High Court and then we started the process all over again so we went back to the High court we went through the full hearing, “she said in part.
She also promised to deliver on the promises she made to the people and thanked them for giving her a chance to be at the helm of power after the elections.
