Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi speaking over the weekend at Gekano in Kitutu Masaba Constituency, Nyamira County when DP Ruto launched the Second Phase of the Last Mile Project, Maangi argued that DP Ruto critics are in panic ahead of the 2022 polls.

"Critics are determined to bring you down ahead of the 2022 polls. I  urge you not to take the criticism serious and focus on serving Kenyans. 2022 the electorates will speak through the ballot on who should succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta," Maangi noted.

According to Maangi, DP Ruto's trips across the country should not be politicized because he is the second in command.

"Kenyans trusted DP Ruto and supported President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto should therefore, continue going round the country to serve Kenyans because he is helping his boss.

"Critics playing petty politics about DP Ruto's trips should wait for their time to serve as Deputy President," he added.

Maangi, a Deputy Governor allied to Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has been at the front line hosting DP Ruto every time he visit Nyamira and Kisii counties.

He is poised to run for the Kisii county gubernatorial seat in 2022.
