An investigating officer who appeared before Makadara Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga said the suspect is mentally unstable and therefore was not in the right state to take plea. A psychiatric report presented in court by the officer indicated that the UoN don had been put under medication.

“The suspect has been put on medication, which will be on a daily basis and is required to appear in hospital on November 29 to check her progress,” the officer stated as quoted by The Star.

Inyama was freed by the magistrate and will stay with her parents while she undergoes treatment. She will be required to report to the police every Friday. The court will give the way forward on December 3.

The suspect had been in police custody for 10 days as detectives continued with the investigations.

It is alleged that the suspect had stayed with the body of her son for approximately two weeks hoping that he would resurrect.

The caretaker of the apartment that she stays in alerted the police after a foul smell started emanating from the suspect's house.
