Politicians from the Rift Valley region have registered two political parties.
In a move seen as a fallback plan, the two parties have been linked to Deputy President’s men.
“We have issued a provisional registration certificate to the two parties but I cannot give you the details of the interim officials because I am not in office,” Registrar of Political parties Lucy Ndung’u said.
We can now reveal the two political parties are United Green Party (UGP) and Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP).
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei had given the clearest hint that they are looking for a soft-landing in case Jubilee becomes too hot.
“We are thinking of a new vehicle ahead of 2022. We cannot work with saboteurs; we cannot work with those who think they can block DP’s 2022 bid. We can’t work with our enemies,” the Senator said earlier.
