Mwananchi Credit Limited has opened a new branch in Mombasa.
The micro-finance company on Monday opened a 6th branch along the Moi Avenue on Jubilee Arcade Building's ground floor.
Executive director Dennis Mombo said the Mombasa branch won't be the company's last branch, but just the beginning of six more branches in the next three months.
“It has been an issue of consideration in the past few months, that an important commercial centre like Mombasa warrants a completely different branch instead of just one solitary department in the Head Office,” Mombo said as quoted by The Star.
Regardless of a poor economy being experienced in various sectors across the country, Mr Mombo said it was an ideal time for the company to set up a new branch in Mombasa.
“We know the economy has not been well but the best time to invest money into opening new branches is now. Our goal is to be the top tier micro lender," he added.
Mombo put hopes on new employees and others who will be transferred to the new branch that they work hard and ensure the company meets its set down goals.
Mwananchi Credit Limited is known for giving affordable loans to its customers. It has its main headquarters in Nairobi at Eco Bank Towers 10th floor.
Others of its branches are found at in Eldoret, Kitengela and two more others within the capital.
