Former Lamu West MP Julius Ndegwa has allegedly abandoned his wife Rehema Susan Maalim.
The revelation came after the Children’s Court in Mombasa ordered Ndegwa to clear rent arrears of Sh140, 000 to stop the eviction of the family from their residence in Nyali. The woman claims the former lawmaker has not been acting responsibly for the last five months.
Tononoka Children’s Court has now directed the politician to pay the said amount for failure to which it will evict the woman. Maalim, who allegedly has a child with the politician, has been faulting him for not acting like a man enough.
While delivering his ruling on Monday, Senior Resident Magistrate Lucy Sindani directed Ndegwa to make the payments with immediate effect as required by the law.
“Pending the hearing and determination of this application, the respondent is hereby compelled to clear the rent arrears as required by the landlord,” she ruled, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The woman claims that their love blossomed when they were still living in Lamu before she gave birth. She pleaded with the court to resolve the matter before the daughter is rendered a destitute.
The lawmaker is yet to respond following the ruling of the court.
