A priest attached to the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret on Wednesday died on the spot after being involved in a tragic road accident.
The incident is said to have happened along Kapsowar-Chesoi road in the neighbouring Elgeyo Marakwet county.
According to a statement from the Eldoret Catholic Diocese seen by Hivisasa, the late priest has been identified as Rev. Fr Kenneth Yego who, until his untimely death, was serving parish priest at Chesongoch Parish.
"We regret to announce the death of Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yego which occurred today (Wednesday 19th December 2018) early morning through a tragic road accident along Kapsowar-Chesoi road. He was the parish priest at Chesongoch Parish," reads the statement that was signed by the Apostolic Administrator of Eldoret Diocese, Rt. Rev. Maurice A. Crowley.
The statement further indicated that funeral arrangements shall be communicated at a later date.
