Speaking during a funds drive at Kipkenyo AIC on Sunday, Sudi claimed the aim of the handshake was to block Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

"I want to tell president Uhuru Kenyatta that if he doesn't want to go home come 2022, he should tell us so that we may change the constitution instead of taking us round in circles," said the second term Kapseret legislator.

Sudi noted that as leaders from the North Rift region, they will not allow the fight against corruption to target individuals from the region, adding that corrupt people do not only hail from the DP's home turf.

"One day I asked the President when Ruto supported Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta was he not a thief? How come when he wants to be president that's when he is branded a thief and corrupt individual?" asked Sudi.

The vocal MP assured residents that leaders from the Rift Valley region would ensure that the community doesn't suffer any form of victimisation.

"We will not sit back and watch the careers of our sons and daughters being ended unfairly. Do not use the fight against graft to target 2022," he noted.
