In more shocking news, a top  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) student admitted at a prestigious US university was on Friday found dead in her room.

Norah Jelagat Borus, a top student in the 2013 KCSE examinations, was in her fourth year of study at the Stanford University, United States of America.

Some of her family members have already travelled to the US to establish the events surrounding the student's death, Joseph Maswan, a relative says.

“Yes it is true the family has received the shocking news, but her father and some family members have travelled to the US to establish the cause of her death,” said Maswan.

The news was also confirmed by University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne. Her death is the fourth case to be reported at Stanford University since last February.  US police in a statement, said they have since launched a probe to establish the exact cause of the death.

“There is no safety threat to the campus community, investigations have commenced establishing circumstances surrounding her death,” the police source revealed.

Borus sat for her KCSE exams at Precious Blood in Riruta, emerging the best student in Nairobi County in the 2013 KCSE results.
