Cancer patients require special care. The way you relate to someone suffering from cancer will either strengthen or weaken the person.

It is important to understand how you can give cancer patients more reasons to live. The remarks we make daily are crucial in the lives of these persons.

Never say these things to someone battling with cancer.

1.  I know a friend who died of cancer.

This is one of the worst statements to tell someone with cancer. Cancer patients get scared when they hear about death. The patient could become weaker because of the statement.

Instead, you need to learn to encourage the patient that he or she will be fine despite the pain and struggle.

2. I understand how you feel.

There is no way you will understand the way a cancer patient feels unless you are affected as well. Find something else to talk about. You can remind them of the good times ahead after they are fully recovered.

3. I used to warn you about smoking.

There is nothing you are going to change if you remind the patient of his or her mistakes. If your friend is battling cancer, ignore what you think might have caused the disease. Instead, think of ways to rescue his life.
