Political leaders have began sensitizing the public to ensure they participate in the 2019 population and housing census.
Speaking in Subukia on Thursday, Nakuru leaders led by Governor Lee Kinyanjui reiterated the need for each and every person in Nakuru county to participate in the exercise.
According to Governor Kinyanjui, national resources in terms of budgetary allocation will be channeled to counties as per the population statistics.
“The government of Kenya does census after every 10 years to enable planning for the population. This is paramount and we call on everyone to ensure they participate in the same as it will determine the resources we get even as a county, said Kinyanjui.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Subukia MP Samuel Kinuthia Gachobe who called on his constituents to ensure they turn up for the exercise.
“I call on my constituents in Subukia to ensure they are counted so that we can also plan for our development in this area,”said Gachobe.
They were speaking in Subukia when the governor launched several projects in the area among them the Subukia Innovation hub and the Boresha barabara.
