Gor Mahia midfielder Francis Nyambura Kahata surprised a young Gor Mahia fan in Kisumu on Saturday after a Kenya Premier League (KPL) clash against Kariobangi Sharks at the Moi Stadium.
Gor Mahia won the match 2-1 to bring joy to their fans in the Lakeside County but one fan went home super happy after Kahata, one of Gor Mahia’s scorers gifted him a new jersey and sparkling new boots.
The young lad, who is an ardent Kahata and Gor Mahia fan, had initially posted a picture of himself in a worn out dirty t-shirt.
The t-shirt had Kahata’s name and jersey number 8 written on it with a red biro pen. After the game, Kahata reached out to the fan and handed him a brand new jersey and boots.
“I was happy to meet future Kahata today after kuona amevaa tisho imeraruka ikiwa na jina yangu kwa mtandao. I had promised to give him my jersey pamoja na boot pair moja. Kijana amefurahia sana kupokea jersey na boots namuombea sana talent yake imfikishe mbali,” Francis Kahata posted on facebook.
It translates to: "I was happy to meet future Kahata today after seeing a picture of him on social media with a worn out t-shirt with my name. I had promised to give him my jersey and boots."
The boy was very happy to have received the jersey and boots. I pray that his talent makes him reach far. Gor Mahia now lead KPL standings with 38 points after 17 matches.
