The country's political temperature has been steadily on the rise and everyone has started planning for the 2022 game plan.
Professor Herman Manyora, who is a political analyst and a lecture at the University of Nairobi, looks at the political options Kenya has going into and after 2022 politics via his weekly analysis.
According to the analyst, Kenya is at a political crossroad typified by the hustling, jostling, accusations and counter-accusations seen in the country at the moment that is leading to the political formations.
The analyst used political history in Kenya and other countries to give the three systems that Kenya probably has going forward.
"Either it becomes one party state as in the case of Russia after the First World War, or becomes a two-party system of course with minor parties in between as it is the case with America," said the analyst.
The third option he gave was of a 'functional dictatorship' as was the case in 1949-1950 in China.
The analyst says this crossroads rarely come by, indicating in Kenya, one of them occurred in 1960 where the opportunity was lost due to greed and betrayal.
He added in the year 2002, when KANU was thrown out, a moment was also created which, just like 1963 betrayal played in big role in ruining it.
The analyst believes that this is another chance Kenya has to ensure they make things right for the future generations of politics in the country.
