The Kenya national women's volleyball team, Malkia Strikers are all smiles after qualifying for the much-coveted Olympic games scheduled to be played in Tokyo, Japan in 2020.
The volleyball elites thrashed Nigeria in all sets to book a direct ticket at the summer games which they had missed out for the past 16 years.
Malkia Strikers beat Nigeria 3-0 with scores of 25-15 in the first set, 25-21 in the second set and 25-12 in the final set.
Several Kenyan leaders have since taken to Twitter to congratulate the queens for their impressive results.
"Congratulations #MalkiaStrikers for qualifying for the 2020 Japan Olympics. Your hard work, wit, talent, skill, and determination has earned you the honours. We look forward to more of the same at the Olympic Games. Hongera!" Deputy President William Ruto tweeted.
"Well done #MalkiaStrikers on the qualification for the 2020 Olympics games in Tokyo after beating Nigeria in the final women's volleyball qualifying match. You have shown us that with determination and dedication everything is possible. Congratulations." Governor Mike Sonko tweeted.
"Congratulations #MalkiaStrikers" Senator Kipchumba Murkomen tweeted.
Since they landed in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Malkia Strikers have posted impressive results.
Some of the countries the team managed to crush are Egypt, Botswana and Cameroon.
