National Resistance Movement (NRM) Kenya chapter leader Dr Miguna Miguna wants ODM leader Raila Odinga expelled from the party.
Miguna is of the view that the opposition chief has contravened party rules by supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta who is from another party.
The exiled outspoken lawyer said on Thursday that Raila's decision to support Uhuru and his Jubilee administration while still in ODM in itself contravenes the opposition party's Constitution and the best ODM can do is to expel the former prime minister from the political outfit.
He tweeted in response to a decision by the ODM National Executive Council to endorse the expulsion of MPs Aisha Jumwa (Malindi) and Suleiman Dori (Msambweni) from ODM for supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential candidature.
"Neither Aisha Jumwa nor Suleiman Dori has formed another party; nor have they joined another party," Miguna said.
"Only Raila Odinga publicly supports another party (Jubilee) and party leader Uhuru Kenyatta. It is Raila Odinga who has contravened the Political Parties Act."
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on Thursday said the party had held a special meeting of the National Executive Committee of the ODM party to consider the matter of party discipline.
"It is the decision of the NEC to uphold discipline by punishing those who violate party and national laws. No one is above those," he tweeted.
