Political analyst Herman Manyora now claims that the recent elevation of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi to the chief minister position is a political scheme.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday evening named head the newly constituted National Development Implementation and Communication Committee.
The latter will supervise his colleagues on matters government development, a role initially played by Ruto through his nationwide development project launches.
According to Manyora, Matiangi has simply been put in the position to hold brief for opposition leader and Uhuru's rival cum bosom buddy Raila Odinga.
He claimed that Raila will with time emerge to take over the position, and Uhuru is only using the CS to keep Ruto off and create room for Raila's smooth assumption of duty.
"It seems Matiangi is holding brief for Raila and in no time, Raila hold that office and take those functions," said the University of Nairobi professor.
He was speaking on his YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It on Saturday.
He said that Ruto remains safe until now, but will soon find himself under the bus once the same happens as he will no longer have any clear role in the government.
"That's when he will be under siege," added Manyora.
