While at Athi River, Uhuru insisted that detectives were free to arrest and prosecute his family members engaging in graft.

"This war is not targeting specific individuals. We shall not spare anyone including my family members," he said.

Under the constitution, only a sitting president is immune to prosecution.

And Uhuru's latest onslaught on graft loads could be buoyed by his new found friend, Raila Odinga, who advised the president to warn his friends in public during a function at State House.

"The war on graft is real. It is likely to affect some of your relatives and people who are very close and dear to you. I have already asked my people not to panic and be prepared for anything," said Raila at State House when launching Phoebe Asiyo's book.

He added: "Even the president should openly tell those close to him that there is no turning back."

At a church function in Nairobi last month, Uhuru conceded that graft war had cost him close friends.

His remarks came after detectives arrested Supreme Court Judge Philomena Mwilu in one of Kenya's shocking graft purge.

Mwilu is linked to the collapse of Imperial Bank which was put under receivership in 2015.
