An elected Member of Parliament from Kisii County has exposed police officers manning roadblocks across the county.
Alpha Ondieki Miruka, MP for Bomachoge Borabu constituency claimed that graft will never end until police officers stop soliciting for bribes at roadblocks.
"DCI and office of the DPP must stop wasting time on the fight against graft because police officers manning roadblocks more especially across Kisii County are corrupt. Motorists most of the time are being asked to give bribes to police officers before they pass at roadblocks," he said.
The MP challenged police officers across Kisii County to work around the clock to ensure there is sanity on roads by stopping to collect bribes.
Miruka urged EACC to start fighting corruption by ensuring police officers at roadblocks have no questionable integrity.
He maintained that corruption should be fought by all Kenyans not only DCI, DPP and EACC.
"Efforts to fight graft will not go anywhere if high profile leaders won't join hands in the graft war. The current crackdown has already been politicized since some people have claimed that only one tribe is being targeted in the war," he added.
The lawmaker regretted that the Jubilee government will not achieve the Big 4 Agenda since the rate at which public funds are being stolen by state officers is high.
