Understandably, this will be the president's first official visit jointly with Mr Odinga to the region, a rare opportunity which we cannot take for granted. The launching of the facilitated KTRH is not only a major milestone in the devolved system of government but also an indication that Kisii County and her neighbors are focused on delivering of the Big Four Agenda.

As a community, besides progressive healthcare, we are also asking the government to consider expanding our infrastructure outreach and agribusiness, which plays a significant role in resuscitation of our local economy.

NYAMIRA COUNTY DESERVES RECOGNITION

Your Excellency, the vast Gusii region brings together Kisii and Nyamira Counties though the regions remain independent of each other in delivery of government services as as outlined in 2010 constitution.

But Nyamira has remained marginalized in terms of social-economic adventures of the National Government, overshadowed by the much bigger and strategically recognized Kisii brothers. And as such, it's pretty paramount that you consider extending your goodwill tour to the county as a good gesture to future development prospects.

LAST TWO VISITS

Mr President, we are very grateful for your two development tours to the county since you took over with the last coming in June 2016.While we appreciate completion of Chebilat-Chabera, and ongoing construction of Mosobeti-Kebirigo Roads, more is yet to be done in our local transport network, health and agriculture, which solely bolster local economy directly.

For instance, your input to expansion of Nyamira County Referral Hospital will curb in flux of our people to the neighbouring Kisii for treatment. This should also be extended to Keroka District Hospital, another oldest facility in the region. For these two facilities to maximise their operations, they need around Sh1 billion.

Further, we would like to request you to find it indispensable to address the plight of tea farmers in the region. For many years now, tea farmers have struggled to get maximum output from the product due to internal challenges that are directly precipitated by dynamic international market

Mr President, we also request that through your intervention, you find it paramount to address challenges of coffee sector, which is undoubtedly at it's knees due to lack of government intervention. The debts accrued by farmers now amount to Sh2 billion, which can't be settled by the poor farmers.

Above all, the people of Nyamira are solidly behind you and Mr Odinga in the efforts to bring unity for economic prosperity in the country. The county also wholeheartedly backs your efforts to curb graft in government and your commitment towards the realization of Big Four agenda.
