Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested suspects linked to sim card and M-Pesa float swap.

In a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, DCI noted that seven suspects were arrested. 

''SEVEN FRAUD Suspects linked to various cases of Sim & M-Pesa Float Swap were yesterday arrested by @DCI_Kenya NRB Area Detectives in two separate Houses at Kabete, Kiambu County. Over 200 Sim Cards, numerous Mobile Phones and several Agent Registration Registers also confiscated,'' wrote the DCI.

DCI further revealed the identity of the seven suspects. The suspects, famously known as the 'Mulot Team' are; Victor Rono (23), Mercy Chepkirui (21),  Nicholas Kipkurui (25), Wesley Kiprono (28), Robert Kibet (23), Faith Chepkorir (23) and Felix Tanui (24).

The seven are known for stealing from unsuspecting citizens through fake M-pesa reversal claims, conning through fake M-Pesa sms, and fake withdrawals. 

The suspects were taken to police custody as investigations into the matter continue. 

On Sunday night, five other suspected fraudsters were arrested in Juja Town and Gwa Kairo. 

The five were also found in possession of phones, laptops and numerous sim cards. 

The Government has declared total war against cybercrime.
