Through his official Twitter handle, Buzeki said the government should be shameful for coming in after a public outcry.

The billionaire businessman who is also the chairman of the Chemelil Sugar Company further pledged to support Kenyans affected by the current situation.

“GOK officers flagging off RELIEF food MUST stop or Do it at the PITCH of darkness (SHAME) purporting  to help now is ridicule personified, Eager to play when the game is OVER, your time is UP Allow @AkotheeKenya and others with NO public office to DO it, they are genuine,” Buzeki tweeted

Reports indicate that Kenyans in at least 13 counties across the country have been affected by the drought and hunger situation with several people reportedly dead.

The government, however, insists that no person has died of hunger.

Already the government has released over Sh2 billion to aid in the curbing of the situation in the affected areas. Non-governmental organizations and well-wishers have also joined hands in making contributions so as to avail food to the affected Kenyans.
