Veteran Nakuru politician Koigi wa Wamwere has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta accusing him of rewarding corrupt elements with government jobs.
The former Subukia MP said that Kenyatta cannot claim to fight corruption when at the same time he is giving jobs to people who have been implicated in graft.
“If people are corrupt and have stolen from public coffers and government, how does President give them public jobs and still claim to fight corruption?” the former MP said.
Koigi, who has been a harsh critic of the Jubilee government, claimed the one qualification Kenyans need to win a state job is being corrupt.
“In Kenya, the more corrupt you are, the more you seem to qualify for a public job! Why can’t President Uhuru get clean persons to serve people and fight corruption under his government?” Koigi said.
The politician lost Jubilee primaries for Nakuru senatorial race in 2017 before jumping ship into NASA.
