The Meteorological Department has said that counties in North Eastern are expected to receive rainfall starting Thursday, January 3.

The Counties to experience rainfall include Garissa, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, and Isiolo as the weatherman announced the forecast from January 1 to January 7, 2018.

According to Acting Director of Meteorological Services Stella Aura, counties in North Eastern will experience rains and showers over few places in the morning and afternoon on Thursday and Friday.

Over the weekend the forecast is expected to be mainly sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy conditions at night in North Eastern.

“North Eastern counties are likely to experience rains and showers in some areas in the morning and afternoon,” said Ms Aura in a statement.

The Coastal Strip counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale will experience showers in some areas up to Saturday in the morning and partly cloudy conditions at night.

Southeastern counties of Kitui, Kajiado, Makueni, Machakos and Taita Taveta will experience rainfall in some areas until Saturday with sunny intervals on the last day.

Counties in Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals in the morning and showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and night in some areas.

The counties in these regions include Nakuru, Kakamega, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia counties.

Nairobi, Nyandarua Nyeri, Kiambu, Meru, Kirinyaga, Embu and Tharaka counties will experience cloudy conditions breaking to sunny intervals in the morning and afternoon there will be rainfall.
