During the development tour DP Ruto in company of North Eastern leaders among them Garissa MP Aden Duale opened volunteer and Jogbaru secondary schools.

The Deputy President also conducted a funds drive for Wakf for Madarassa in Tarbaj constituency.

According to Duale, the funds drive raised over Sh61 Million.

"DP DR @williamsRuto conducted a funds drive for Wakf for Madarassa, Tarbaj constituency. We raised over 61M," Duale tweeted.

In his tweet, the leader of Majority in the National Assembly added, "A person who follows a path of acquiring knowledge, Allah will make easy the passage to Paradise for him."

He added, "A Muslim will not tire of knowledge until he reaches heaven."

While opening the secondary schools, the DP rooted for competency based training saying it is what Kenya has lacked for long.

He said that technical training colleges are going to address the gap and help the country realise its dream of food security.

The DP also called for unity and peaceful coexistence among Kenyans.

"Our peaceful coexistence as a nation rests on propagating harmony, unity and social cohesion. The onus is on all leaders to advance oneness and lay a strong foundation for indivisible, prosperous country," the DP added.
