Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has exuded confidence that his party will retain the Embakasi South parliamentary seat in the April 5, by-election.
Speaking when he handed certificate to Wiper candidate Julius Mawathe on Tuesday, Kalonzo asked Embakasi South residents to vote for Mawathe.
The Ukambani political kingpin said he will personally lead campaigns for the former area MP ahead of the by-elections.
Kalonzo said he will do everything at his discretion to make sure the party retains the seat.
"I am calling on Embakasi South voters to come out in large numbers and vote on April 5," Kalonzo said.
He asked Wiper politicians in Ukambani and Nairobi to massively campaign for Mawathe.
The Embkasi South parliamentary seat was declared vacant after the Supreme Court nullified Mawathe's August 8, 2017 election.
The Apex court ruled that the election was not free and fair and ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh poll.
Last week, Kalonzo's party received a major boost after Jubilee party said it will not field a candidate in the upcoming by-election.
A section of Jubilee politicians led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has declared support for the Wiper candidate.
Mawathe is expected to battle it out in the by-election with Irshard Sumra of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Sumra petitioned Mawathe's election leading to the latter's victory nullification.
