Ol-Donyo Sabuk Assistant County Commissioner Carolyn Kathambi, has warned residents engaging in illicit brew business to find other means of earning a livelihood.
In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Kathambi said there are many legal ways of making money, other than engaging in illegal activities.
Earlier on, Kathambi led a team of local administrators in destroying apparatuses used by brewers at Athi River.
She intimated that the fight against illicit brew will continue until the outlawed practice ends.
"Let those in the business find an alternative business they can do instead of the cat and mouse games we are engaging in. They should know they are risking their lives, two weeks ago a man died while running away from arrest and while swimming across the river, he drowned," she said on phone.
She urged area residents to provide information concerning suspects who could be doing the business.
"We urge the community to assist us in the fight by communicating with us, because they live with the same brewers in their areas. They should tell us rather than be quiet, then the brew ends up destroying their children," she said
