According to a passerby who found the body, the identity of the deceased could not be revealed.

"I was going to work at 6 am when I spotted the deceased lying down. I tried to wake him up in vain. I touched him when I noticed he was already dead," said Elvis Ososi.

Ososi said immediately he raised alarm to attract members of the public who responded quickly.

"Locals stormed the crime scene and no one was able to identify the body," he noted.

Area chief James Omete confirmed the incident and said he notified Keroka police officers who collected the body.

"The body of the man was taken to Nyamira County hospital morgue awaiting identification and burial," said Omete.

The chief urged members of the public to report to the morgue to identify the body. He said probe has been launched to establish who killed the man.

"The deceased body had no physical injuries making it difficult for us to confirm whether he was killed or not," added Omete.
