This comes after Justice Martin Burns who presided over her trial on Thursday sympathized with her hardship as a mother.

“You went from being a wife and a mother, who was at that time nursing a six-month-old baby and who was otherwise trying to establish your young family in a new county, to losing your son, husband and daughters,” the judge noted in his verdict.

Arunga was a mother of three when she lost her three-year-old son Sinclair Timberlake in 2014. The case surrounding, the controversial death of Sinclair Timberlake led to Arunga’s two daughters to be placed under foster care.

The former TV news anchor who also doubled up as a lawyer back in her heydays will now be reunited with her daughters who are aged seven and five years.

Justice Burns during Arunga’s ruling on Thursday noted that the circumstances surrounding the death of her son may have influenced her decision to withhold information.

“You must be taken to have been in shock at the death of your son at the times when you were interviewed … and further to be grieving at your loss,” he stated.

Arunga was handed a 10-month parole sentence.
