The lawmaker allied to the opposition said she wants youths who have ventured into the boda-boda business to acquire driving licenses in compliance with traffic rules and regulations.

"Through the Action Affirmative Funds kitty I will ensure youths across the county who have no driving licences acquire the licences to curb police harassment," she noted in Kisii town on Friday.

She urged boda-boda riders not to pay anything to benefit from the free training.

"I wish to urge riders not to pay anything so that they can be enrolled in the free training program. Anyone demanding money claiming he or she will include riders in the program should be reported to authorities for immediate legal actions to be taken," she stated.

The vocal legislator appealed to youths not to be idle in villages saying they may end up engaging in criminal activities due to idleness.

This comes after the MP in December last year requested Interior Cs Fred Matiang'i to extend compliance period from January to May 2019 to allow the riders to acquire licences.
