A man in Kakamega county has been charged with attempting to defile his 45-year-old mother.
The accused who according to a report by SDE was identified in court as AMM allegedly attempted to rape his mother during an altercation at their home.
On the morning of September 17, the accused allegedly cut down trees at their home compound and took a section of the woods to an unidentified destination leaving some behind.
His mother, as SDE reports, took the words the accused had left behind to use them as firewood in preparing lunch.
The accused was apparently not pleased by his mother's move to use the woods without his consent and went to ahead start a heated argument with her. It is during the altercation that he allegedly threatened his mother and pulled down her skirt claiming that he was ready to serve a jail sentence after raping her.
The mother who is the complainant in the case raised alarm attracting the attention of the neighbours who came to her rescue. The accused was then later arrested with the help of the locals and consequently taken to court.
Appearing before Kakamega Senior Principal Magistrate Hazel Wandere, the man was charged with committing indecent acts.
He was given an Sh100,000 bond.
The case will be mentioned on October 3 and then, later on, be heard on November 4.
