Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo now wants 8 embattled form four leavers of Ambira Boys High School released.
The group was recently captured on camera insulting Cabinet Secretaries Amina Mohammed of Education and her Interior counterpart Fred Matiang'i.
In a 30-seconds clip, the group which was also burning their books after completing their final paper, bragged of having cheated in the exams.
In a tweet Monday, Amollo who doubles up as a famed lawyer maintained that the group cannot be charged under any law as nothing said about them is based in the constitution.
‘’#FreeAmbiraBoys , been away kiasi and I see Ambira Boys were arrested for some utterance they allegedly made. I Cannot fathom what offence they could possibly be charged with. Bad Behaviour & I’ll-manners is NOT Criminal! Free The Boys Forthwith!’’ he said.
However, appearing before Siaya Senior Resident Magistrate Gladys Adhiambo on Monday, the boys aged between 16 and 17 were condemned to the Ugunja Police Station until December 3.
The boys were arrested between November 23 and 25, with their action attracting condemnations from different quarters, President Uhuru Kenyatta leading the pack.
They will be held at the juvenile cells as the prosecution concludes its investigations.
