Kangundo was among the most famous constituencies before it was subdivided into two ahead of 2012 polls.
Its popularity, however, didn't just come out of visits by various people.
There are two important factors that made the constituency known to many in the country.
They include:
1. Coffee farming
Kangundo constituency had serious coffee farmers who dedicated their time to coffee planting.
The sales were high and the farmers had money in their pockets.
That enabled them to invest and save.
2. Beautiful women
In the 80s and 90s, there existed a narrative that Kangundo women would not make good wives and any man would be asked to avoid them like a plague.
The reason is that these beauties were to kill for, they were from rich homes.
Due to that, tying them down to manual works at home was a no.
Unless you were 'loaded', maintaining a Kangundo woman was an uphill task.
Sadly, the popularity of this famous town is going down day in day out.
This is because the coffee sector in the region is crippled, the farmers are not getting the value of their crops.
The town has slow growth since it is located on the hill.
