Former Thika MP Alice Ng'ang'a has apposed the re-introduction of a prime minister post ahead of the release of the Building Bridges Initiative report later today.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, the ex-legislator said the post was tested before, and Kenyans decided to do away with it during the 2010 referendum.
She questioned the need to re-introduce the post, considering Kenyans had voted for it to be scrapped out during the 2010 referendum.
Ng'ang'a insisted that the only way Kenyan can realize its economic goals is by embracing unity.
She said uniting all Kenyans is very important, adding that her prayer is BBI does not divide the country into two parts.
"The prime minister position was removed after the referendum, why would we want to re-introduce it again? The medicine of this country is uniting to address the issues we are facing. I hope this does not divide Kenyans," she said.
The BBI team is expected to present its findings to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga today.
The two leaders will then make the report public on Wednesday.
A number of analysts have claimed the BBI team will recommend for creation of a prime minister post, and two deputy prime ministers in order to broaden the government and provide for inclusivity.
