It was not business as usual on Thursday in Sensi ward after women in Kenyoni one, Kitutu Chache North in Kisii County on Thursday, protested over a neglected borehole.
The women claimed that the area MCA Paul Angwenyi has failed to ensure completion of the project he initiated.
"The ward rep has been silent since January 2019 after he initiated the project. At times he goes missing from the ward something which has forced us to protest so that he can wake up and work as he promised during the campaigns in 2017," said one of the angry women identified as Janet Gesare.
Peninah Kerubo noted that women travel kilometers down in the hill to search for water.
"Since Angwenyi has become lazy let him not try to campaign in 2022 unless he completes the project. We want plenty supply of water in the ward for domestic use," she argued.
Jeriah Nyabonyi protested that the MCA has failed to ensure accelerated development in the ward as he promised in 2017 campaigns.
"We cannot support the MCA because he has proved to be lazy and a non-performer. 2022 he will see dust should he attempt to vie again. 2022 we will have to elect a fresh leader," Nyabonyi stated.
