The two are Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and his former Embakasi South counterpart Irshad Sumra, over hateful remarks they are said to have made in Kibra constituency days earlier.

NCIC Secretary Hassan Mohammed on Wednesday said that the two are expected at the commission offices on Thursday morning to answer to claims of making dangerous remarks.

"The two are required to answer to charges on utterances made that threaten the social cohesion fabric among Kenyans," he said.

The commission which had earlier warned ODM politicians of possible arrests in case they make reckless remarks, said that its also pursuing other cases involving other politicians.

Mr Mohammed said that the commission has received clips of other politicians felt to have made similar remarks and is investigating the cases before deciding its next move.

"The commission is in receipt of a number of audio and video clips of politicians making what may amount to inflammatory statements," he added.

This comes a day after Jubilee Party members called for arrests of some ODM members for making remarks that might breach peace, among them Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

The NCIC says that it is also monitoring politicians' social media platforms to ensure that sanity prevails.
