In pictures shared on social media platforms, David Gikaria and Senator Susan Kihika are seen outside a gate asking to be allowed inside.

The two are widely considered to be the allies of the deputy president Dr William Ruto.

The incident which happened on Monday in Nakuru was confirmed by renowned blogger Dennis Itumbi.

"Locked out of Presidential function in Nakuru. Nakuru Jubilee Mps and Senator, " Dennis Itumbi wrote.

The locking out of the legislators come at a time when tension between the head of state and his deputy is high.

Senator Kihika has vowed to throw her weight behind the presidential bid of the deputy president in 2022, a move that has not gone down well with a section of members of the governing Jubilee party.

Citizen Televison, in a tweet, reported that the head of state is set to issue title deeds in Nakuru today after addressing the nation and announcing the reorganization of his cabinet.

Tensions have been growing in the Jubilee party over deputy president William Ruto's presidential bid ahead of the 2022 general elections.

The DP has long faced accusations of disrespecting the head of state by campaigning for office.
