Self proclaimed Gusii spokesperson Simba Arati is now on the receiving end over what pundits claim 'excessive' drinking.
Mr. Arati, popular among Gusii youths, was seen making several oscillations at Kasarani stadium during Shabana FC clash with Mwatate FC in Third Tier playoffs which went in Shabana's favour.
And according to his social media critics, the Dagoretti North MP, who is shifting focus to Gusii politics, demeaned his position by taking liquor.
"It is not bad to take liquor but when you do that and take selfies with youths who you should inspire, then something is wrong somewhere," claimed Nelly Moraa on Nyamira County Facebook page.
Another user, Jacob Orori added: "It was embarrassing to see him unstable on the main stands. Staggering like he drunk for the first time."
While the firebrand politician's private life remains mysterious, it was however the first time claims about his drinking habits were being discussed online.
Efforts to reach him for comment were futile since he called not take calls by the time of going to the press.
Mr. Arati, who is warming for Kisii gubernatorial seat, has been consolidating support from across Nyamira and Kisii Counties.
"I am ready to unite our community. I have heard your calls and that's why I am here to steer the community ahead," he said when he was installed as Abagusii spokesman in March.
