The party has been shaking lately and division playing out as members take sides between the party leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Manyora says that when the party collapses or splits, the DP's presidential bid for 2022 will be affected, as he will have only a fraction of the support he needs to make it to the top seat.

He opines that Ruto will only remain with an empty party, abandoned by the majority of members, or could be forced out of the party by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his team.

"The split or destruction of Jubilee will mean that either Ruto will inherit a shell of a party that is left to him by those who have destroyed it or they will make things so tough for him that he will have to leave," he said on Saturday.

He made the remarks in a recorded analysis posted on his YouTube channel Take It or Leave It.

The University of Nairobi don remarked that a split or collapse of the party will see Ruto part ways with some members from the Mt Kenya region, resulting in a loss of some of the votes.

And based on the 2017 arithmetic where the region comes wholly out to vote for the two, he pointed out that even a little reduction in the Mt Kenya vote would make things hard for Ruto.

"Mt Kenya could be split and this does not mean well for William Ruto because in 2017 the highest possible turn up from the region to win," he added.
