Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale on Saturday made a special appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
Speaking in Mandera county during a funds drive in aid of Alfalah Islamic Schools, Duale said the ruling Jubilee party should not be destroyed.
"I'm appealing to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President Dr William Ruto, the Senate and the National Assembly Jubilee leaders not to allow the destruction of a National Party that has taken us time to build. We agreed as leaders to wind up more than 10 regional political outfits in the country because we wanted to bring Kenyans together," said the MP who doubles up as the National Assembly Majority Leader.
According to Duale, after the formation of Jubilee Party, sanity was brought in the country’s political platform that had for long been stained by tribalism, division and a lack of focus.
He said; "We should not accept the ideologies of those people with the history to break parties; he broke KANU and then NARC. He did not stop there; he went to Cord because of political dishonesty but killed it thereafter. Because of his selfish agenda, NASA is also gone."
