Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi has been termed as of less importance in Jubilee Party matters in Gusii region.
This is after the lawmaker dumped Deputy President William Ruto and joined a team of Gusii politicians pushing for Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i's presidency ahead of the 2022 polls.
Speaking at Etibu village in Bomariba ward on Monday, Kisii County Jubilee Party secretary-general Isaac Motari said Momanyi's exit from DP Ruto's camp has no impact.
"The County MP has chosen to follow others instead of sticking to the party. Her exit from DP Ruto's camp won't scare us from pushing for DP Ruto's presidency in 2022. Let her go because after all, she does not have any impact and she could not deliver votes to DP Ruto," Motari said.
The Jubilee party official who has since declared interest to run for Bomariba MCA seat noted that DP Ruto's penetration in Gusii politics is growing each day.
"DP Ruto will still get support from Nyamira residents in 2022 because so far three MPs; Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango, Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose and Vincent Kemosi (West Mugirango) have thrown their support behind DP Ruto. Momanyi's exit is welcome as she is of less importance," noted Motari.
