The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has summoned 14 contestants seeking to vie for various seats in the August 8 polls, for allegedly breaching the electoral code of conduct during their campaigns.
The 14 are expected to appear before the IEBC Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee on Wednesday, June 21, alongside complaints in the cases.
The summoned candidates include Jubilee’s Bungoma governor Ken Lusaka and his competitor Wycliffe Wangamati of Ford Kenya, Starehe candidate Steve Mbogo of ODM and his opponent Thomas Makori and Harmed Getange, Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu of Wiper and her rival Philip Kaloki of Jubilee Party.
Others in the list are Kayole South ward MCA nominess Benson Ong’onge and Fredrick Okeyo, Mountain View ward aspirants Raphael Musyoki and Peris Ayuma, Langata MP aspirants Nixon Korir and Kavore Kariuki, Rarieda MP aspirants Netto Adhola and Erick Onyango.
